I hope this missive finds each of you enjoying your family and friends this weekend. Here in the States we are celebrating Thanksgiving, our favorite holiday at Mediators without Borders, where we gather with loved ones to share our appreciation and hope for the future. We are deeply grateful this season for each of our instructors and students who believe in our inAccord model of ADR and have stayed by us through thick and thin.
There is a teaching from a course I am revisiting this holiday season that encourages me to see the world that exists under my perceptions and beliefs and open up to all the possibilities that it offers. As I sit here in my home perched high in the mountains of Colorado, I marvel at the world that exists for each of us. When I can see the world unencumbered by my past or my sense of separation, I feel a rush of optimism and hope for us all. I experience this world in the gentle face of our dog Joe, in the graceful arc of an eagle as he flies over the pinon pines, and in the beautiful sunrise that greeted me this fine Colorado morning.
The world of our creation is not without its challenges, some daunting and seemingly insurmountable. But there is a world of possibilities for each of us that opens with the first prayer of giving thanks. We would love to hear from you about your gratitude, appreciation, and hope for the future. Please share with us here and have a wonderful holiday season.
