It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Brian Luther. I consider Brian to be the consummate professional and believe he is well-qualified for any legal or leadership role. I write this letter as someone who has taught many prospective lawyers as a Professor of Law at the U.S. Air Force Academy, before I retired from the Air Force in 1999.

I first met Brian shortly after I joined LexisNexis in 2001. At the time, Brian and I were assigned to different teams. However, I was aware of his work and have worked with him on a daily basis since June 2009, when he became my supervisor. Brian always takes a positive, “can do,” approach to all problems, and he is an energetic, motivational person who communicates clearly and effectively—both verbally and in writing.

Brian successfully managed a team 24 lawyers who write LexisNexis summaries and annotations for federal judicial opinions, and morale on our team was high because of the example Brian set. Brian always put the interests of others ahead of his interests, and always had time to listen to others and help them solve their problems—qualities I believe are critical to success in the workplace.

William G. Schmidt, Esq., Attorney at Law

As someone who has worked closely with Brian, I enthusiastically recommend him as a project manager and believe he has the requisite professional and personal qualities. I have known Brian for about ten years through our mutual employment with LexisNexis. As Manager of the customer service desk, I first worked with Brian, then an Editor, in 2001 – 2003 crafting unit-wide communications for staff as we moved to a new system that fully supported our online products. Due to the massive changes to outdated systems our messages needed to be transparent and yet careful to a staff that was unfamiliar and often uncomfortable with change. Brian’s natural skill in verbal and written communication helped ensure a smooth transition to our new system.

Due to Brian’s consistent high quality editorial work and in part due to his congenial personality, Brian has for many years enjoyed a leadership role at LexisNexis working with other attorney editors to improve their individual contributions. This past year, as a fellow manager overseeing a similar staff of attorneys, I continued to witness Brian’s forthright and comfortable style. I see a direct correlation between the responsibilities of his role at LexisNexis and the desired qualities for a legal project manager.

Hugh Smith, Esq., Attorney at Law

I would like to heartily recommend Brian Luther. I’ve worked with Brian on a number of writing and editing projects over the past 25 years, and he has excelled in that capacity.

In my experience as a freelance editor and a web designer, I’ve read many manuscripts and edited a variety of web content, and I can enthusiastically confirm that Brian’s writing and editing skills are top notch. His meticulous attention to grammar and style has been a welcome asset, ensuring the success of our collaborative ventures.

Over the past year, Brian and I have partnered on a joint web design project of mine, and Brian has taken the lead on creating, gathering, and editing much of the written content. Brian is positive and optimistic, even when confronting tricky issues or time-consuming tasks, and his energy and patience would be valuable assets in any setting. Brian displays professional poise in front of an audience, and is always well prepared for our business presentations.
